Rokonet has added a sophisticated new accessory to its ProSYS System - exemplifying Rokonet's advanced technological capabilities - as well as its rapid response to the changing needs of its worldwide customer base. The ACM, a cutting-edge Communication Module offering TCP/IP-Ethernet connectivity, enables the use of existing LAN and WAN intranet infrastructures for the transfer of security data to monitoring stations, thus eliminating the expense of phone calls between control panels and central control rooms. This represents significant savings, especially for organizations and businesses with multiple locations.
Sitting inside the panel's box and co-existing with the telephone connection, the ACM offers full functionality over IP networks. The module can be simultaneously accessed by multiple clients; seamlessly connects with Upload/Download software; and enables remote access, monitoring, and software upgrades. With the ACM, customers are guaranteed a continuous, always-on connection, enabling 100% supervised facilities and instant response to security breaches.

Fast and Free

Using standard IP Protocols, the ACM enables free-of-charge, high-speed connectivity through an Ethernet connection of 100 Mbps - or a 56 Kbps PPP modem connection - which can be used as a system back-up. This very high speed enables maximum panel bus throughput, assures the fastest possible data transfer, and eliminates bottlenecks.

True Communication Security

Offering the highest level of built-in security, the ACM offers a full SSL secure communication layer. Since encryption alone does not assure security without also regularly changing the key, the ACM was designed to change encryption keys at regular intervals, thus offering truly secure TCP/IP connectivity.

A Range of Messaging Options

|
|
|
The ACM's new messaging options for the ProSYS panel include MS channels with IP receiver support and Follow-Me channels with email support.

The ACM is a fully supervised accessory of the panel. The ACM's sophisticated diagnostics - including errors and failures - are reported to the panel and logged in its event logger.

The ACM is scalable and future-proof. The ACM software is remotely upgradeable, and can be used with any ProSYS panel versions. Completely customizable, the ACM enables protocols and additional functionality to be added - and remotely configured - as needed for specific clients. HMI (Human Machine Interface) software is supported by implementing industry standard Modbus protocol over TCP/IP.

The ACM is ideal for a variety of markets: integrators and system houses that provide building control and security solutions; companies with distributed branches; banks, financial institutions and ATM machines; companies that need constant remote monitoring and control over panels; monitoring stations; apartment complexes; convenience stores; retail chains; and, advanced users for SOHO automation and ADSL connections at home. The ACM is particularly important where long distance calls are expensive.
Three standard hardware versions are available, to meet the needs of a variety of customers. The Basic version includes a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port and an RS485 port to the panel. The Modem version includes a 56 Kbps modem. The Full version offers an extra RS485 port, two extra RS232 ports, a PCMCIA interface, and a USB port. Customized versions are also available upon request.
